The first step is digging a hole to create the round-shaped putting green cups. The depth of this hole should be the length of your longest putt plus 3-5 inches (7-13cm). Next up, it’s time to line out yardage markers on both sides of this new putting green, so you know how far from cups each handicap goes off when they hit their ball into them. You want these yardage markers if for no other reason than those times when putts are short but not immediately apparent which cup they went in because there was a pile-up where all or most balls were rolling back after everyone had put already.
